What is most challenging about having family devotions?

In thinking about this, I know as a couple, without children, we can still pass on the same godly principles to those around us, that we would as if we had children. I would be interested in ways to grow as a couple in The Lord and Bible Study. We still seem to fill all of our time with other things, other than activities that I know you as parents are obligated to. Getting both of us on the same place at the same time is sometimes difficult. So any suggestions from someone who is in this same circumstance would be appreciated.
